Two cards, two different coverage levels. Discover covers 80+ attractions and all public transport including the airport. Hop covers 40+ city-centre attractions and the hop-on hop-off bus only — no metro, trains, or airport. Here’s what you actually get for your money.
The comprehensive card — covers the entire Capital Region including day trips and airport transfers.
The city-focused card — covers central Copenhagen attractions and sightseeing buses only.
A few things that catch people off guard — budget for these separately.
No. Both the Discover and Hop cards include entry to Tivoli Gardens — you can walk around the park, enjoy the atmosphere, and see the architecture for free. However, all rides require separate tickets that cost roughly $22–33 (€20–30) per person. Multi-ride passes are available at the park.
Only the Discover card includes airport transport. It covers unlimited metro, train, and bus travel across the entire Capital Region, including the metro from Copenhagen Airport (CPH) to the city centre. The Hop card only covers the Stromma hop-on hop-off buses — no metro, no airport transfer.
No, only the Discover card includes Kronborg Castle. The Hop card covers 40+ city-centre attractions only — day trips like Kronborg, Louisiana Museum, and Frederiksborg Castle are not included. The Discover card also covers the train transport to get there.
Restaurant discounts were removed from both cards in 2026. The only other change was Den Blå Planet aquarium, which no longer participates. All other inclusions from 2025 remain the same.
Most attractions are walk-up — just show your QR code and enter. However, a few venues require advance booking for timed slots: Home of Carlsberg, Palm House, Museum of Illusions, IKONO Copenhagen, and the Planetarium. The card covers your entry fee, but you still need to reserve your time slot.
Permanent collections are always included with the card. Special or temporary exhibitions often cost extra and may require separate tickets or advance reservations. Check the individual venue website before visiting to see what exhibitions are running and whether they require additional payment.
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before use — activated cards are non-refundable.
