The Copenhagen Card gives you access to a discounted unlimited ride pass — and almost no one knows about it. The standard unlimited ride pass costs €35–45 per person. Card holders pay less.
The Copenhagen Card allows one scan per attraction — but Tivoli is an exception. You can re-enter on the same day if you follow one step before leaving.
When leaving Tivoli mid-visit, ask staff at the main entrance for a re-entry stamp. Show the stamp when you return — your Copenhagen Card QR code has already been scanned and will not work a second time. Without the stamp, you will not be able to re-enter.
On Friday Rock concert nights, re-entry is not permitted — even with a stamp. If you leave during a Friday Rock evening, you will not be able to return. Access on these nights may also require a separate reservation — check the Tivoli website for the current Friday Rock schedule.
Open the Copenhagen Card City Guide app and confirm your card is activated. If you have not activated yet, do it now — the timer starts from this moment, not from purchase.
The main entrance is at Vesterbrogade 3 — a 2-minute walk from Copenhagen Central Station. Metro lines M1/M2 stop at Vesterport or Rådhuspladsen, both within a short walk.
Show the QR code from the app to staff at the entrance. No ticket window, no queue — go straight to the card holders’ lane. Staff will scan your code to let you in.

The Christmas lights at Tivoli switch on at dusk — around 4pm in December. Arriving at this moment is one of the most atmospheric experiences Copenhagen offers. Budget 2–3 hours in the gardens.
During the main season (April–September), Tivoli gets busy from midday onward. Arriving at opening is the best way to enjoy the gardens without large crowds — especially if you have children with you.
Friday Rock concerts draw large crowds and change how the gardens operate. Re-entry is not permitted on these evenings. If you are not attending the concert, a different evening or daytime visit will be more enjoyable.
